Captain Twang is always good for a surprise: The latest album "Kohlenpott Wolfsgeheul" of the band which is so deeply engrained in American roots music contains mostly songs in German language!
Inspired from the area "Ruhrgebiet" – where Captain Twang comes from – Eddie Wagner and Jim Demant feature tracks like "Steigerboogie", "Country Roads Kohlenpott" and "Emscherstrand". Beside these songs with a lot of dry humor and surreal imaginations of the region where the band lives the album contains very special versions of for example "Helden" (David Bowie), "Sexy" (Marius Müller-Westernhagen), "Model" (Kraftwerk) or "Das kann man auch mal so sehen" (Udo Lindenberg).
Impressively the well known songs with German lyrics have been transformed into Captain Twang's complete new extraordinary versions. And even for all those which not understand German language the on the Fuego lable released album is recommendable because it contains all the typical trademarks of Captain Twang: a unique mixture of Country, Blues, Rock, Surf and a lot more of what is often called Americana. No doubt, another masterpiece after several remarkable albums from Captain Twang.

Also vom Leben als Ganzes.“
